Second conjugation verbs (er)

Those verbs ending in -er are second conjugation verbs. To form the preterit, called the pretérito, of such verbs in Spanish, do the following:

Verbo : Comer

1. Drop the infinitive ending, -er. This produces the verb stem. com / to eat —> com-

2. Add the following endings to the stem:
